Are you looking for a new career?
Would you like to work with a diverse group of young people?
Do you have a passion for inclusivity?
In order to match the demand of our growing community, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Teaching Assistant to join our Stockport school.
At Progress Schools Stockport, we provide bespoke spaces that are perfect for working with small groups. Our large playground at the back of the school allows us to focus on sports in PE as well as enrichment sessions. The team is dedicated to supporting students through to Year 11 and on to their next steps beyond this. We work closely with social care, parents, and carers to signpost the best route forwards. Through our extensive partner network, we also give students the opportunity to work with outside agencies who provide an insight into various careers for students.
As a Teaching Assistant, candidates would need to demonstrate an understanding of stages of development and individual needs. They must also be able to give positive encouragement and feedback to ensure pupils are reaching their full potential.
Requirements before applying to the role:
Progress Schools are small but perfectly formed, with an average of 30-55 pupils on roll. Our sole focus is to help young people achieve positive progressions that will allow them to return to mainstream schools or enter into Further Education. We provide opportunities for children who need a safe space outside of home, alongside adults who can provide a nurturing, encouraging and supportive environment.
With this in mind, we would love to hear from applicants who are passionate about working with young people who need support to make positive changes. If they are able to lead a team of peers with the same mindset, that would be highly beneficial.

Expectations within the role:
Here at Progress, we are passionate about developing our staff as well as our students. Throughout your time with us, you will be fully supported with a range of CPD, career progression and in house training, which includes paid qualifications.
