A unique opening has arisen to be a key part of the leadership team within Progress Schools as the Deputy Head of one of our schools.

To assist the Head of School in operationally managing the performance of the school, through close relationships with other members of the senior and wider leadership teams and Managing Director by ensuring that the school is providing high quality education, in-line with statutory compliance and legal duty. Ensuring the school is always inspection-ready by being an outstanding provision.

The Deputy Head of School will focus specifically on safeguarding, SEND and behaviour across the school under the leadership of the Head of School and wider leadership team.

We are looking for passionate and ambitious individuals who can create a safe and encouraging environment in order for their students to learn and flourish. This role would suit someone who is looking to take the next step in their education career and explore the management of a small setting and staff team. We would love to hear from applicants who are passionate about working with young people who need support to make a positive change.

Expectations within the role: 

  • Supporting the Head of School to ensure the quality of education is delivered to a high standard and students are supported accordingly.
  • Ensuring the school is always compliant with the Independent School Standards.
  • Ensuring those with SEND are provided effective interventions and reasonable adjustments are implemented.
  • Ensuring safeguarding practices are effective and additional training implemented where required.
  • Working closely with the Head of School, regional and national staff to drive school improvement.
