An exciting opportunity has arisen for a teacher or tutor to join one of the leading Alternative Education Schools within Progress.
At Progress Schools High Wycombe, we have supported 80% of Year 11 pupils to progress into a positive post-16 destination. We were the first Progress School to open its doors in 2015 and we are proud to continue to help students in the local area. We have provided a full-time alternative education provision to a number of young people, including those with challenging behaviour, students at risk of permanent exclusion, and pupils with SEND
In each Progress School, there is an average of 30-55 pupils on roll which allows us to create a nurturing and encouraging environment for the students. As a tutor or teacher, you must have experience in a secondary setting, whether that be mainstream or an alternative provision. It is crucial that you can use your passion for education to foster a love of learning and provide our young people with a stimulating environment where they can learn and flourish.
Requirements before applying to the role:
You will be an integral part of developing the work of Progress Schools and giving pupils the chance to either return back into mainstream schools or prepare for the next steps in their journey, whether that be to college, an apprenticeship or a different Post-16 pathway. If successfully appointed, you would be responsible for teaching a range of subjects to students throughout the school. Due to the diversity of the education that you will provide, we do not require a subject specialism. However, the successful candidate must be able to adapt and differentiate learning to meet the needs of all learners, who will have a range of abilities.
