Can you demonstrate a clear passion for teaching SEN students?
Are you looking for an exciting, new teaching opportunity?
Do you want to build relationships with a diverse group of young people?
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified SEN teacher to join one of the leading Alternative Education Schools within Progress. At Progress Schools Northampton, we accept students from KS3 or KS4. We have a bright and colourful recreational area, where students can enjoy their downtime, such as breakfast club, breaks and their lunch period. Our four spacious classrooms are all equipped with either interactive Smart boards or projectors to allow us to truly engage students with interactive learning.
In each Progress School, there is an average of 30-55 pupils on roll which allows us to create a nurturing and encouraging environment for the students. As a SEN teacher, you must have experience working with SEND or SEMH students in a secondary setting, whether that be mainstream or an alternative provision. It is crucial that you can use your passion for education to foster a love of learning in all students, especially those with ASD and ADHD, and provide our young people with a stimulating environment where they can feel supported to learn and flourish.
Requirements before applying to the role:
You will be an integral part of developing the work of Progress Schools and giving pupils the chance to either return back into mainstream schools or prepare for the next steps in their journey, whether that be to college, an apprenticeship or a different Post-16 pathway.
If successfully appointed, you would be responsible for teaching a range of subjects to students throughout the school. Due to the diversity of the education that you will provide, we do not require a subject specialism. However, the successful candidate must be able to adapt and differentiate learning to meet the needs of all learners, who have a wide range of abilities.
Expectations within the role:
Here at Progress, we are passionate about developing our staff as well as our students. Throughout your time with us, you will be fully supported with a range of CPD, career progression and in house training, which includes paid qualifications. This goes alongside numerous other benefits such as a pension scheme and parental leave.
Further Benefits Include:
We would love to hear from applicants who are passionate about working with young people who need support to make a positive change. If you are interested in a role and would like to discuss it further, please contact 0161 200 1904 or email theprogressgroup@randstad.co.uk
